Welcome To The New
CJ's Heart Of America Baseball History Museum Website...

Maybe you saw the website on my car window around central Iowa, at an Iowa Cubs game, or heard about it through a friend...

CJ's Dream: The Museum's Mission...

* To RECOGNIZE contributions
of individuals from the Midwest to the game of baseball.

* To PROVIDE a central organization and facility for
the collection, preservation, and public exhibition of artifacts
and documents important to the history of Midwest baseball.

* To EDUCATE current and future generations about
these historical contributions and achievements
to the game through this collection.

108 stiches are used to complete
the hand stitching of
an official baseball.

The goal is the establishment
of a not-for-profit Baseball
History Museum in
Central Iowa.

The collection and preservation
of existing baseball artifacts
in a museum setting is essential to
guarantee their availability
for public exhibition and
education for future generations.

Each day Midwest baseball artifacts
are lost to private collections and
spread throughout the world.

We currently possess many examples
of Midwest baseball history
but continue to welcome donations.

It is important to gather additional
artifacts and documentation in regard
to other states in the Midwest.

Oral/Written stories from
ballplayers and their families
are treasures, as are team photographs,
documents (contracts), and other
professional and non-professional
baseball related materials.

Included will be: Iowa, Illinois,
Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas,
Indiana, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas.

It is critical to preserve these resources
so that they are not sold, or worse yet
discarded and are no longer available
to tell these stories.
